Our aim is to alleviate poverty and improve quality of life people in Glasgow. We offer practical assistance to people in need, fund local community projects and administer pensions and grants for a range of trusts with mutual aims. Our small staff team work remotely, and our Board of Trustees are actively involved in delivering our mission.

Due to upcoming staff retirement, and a desire to expand our impact, we are recruiting a dynamic Fundraising and Partnerships Manager. This post holder will play a key role in delivering our ambition to positively impact 100,000 lives over the next 10 years.

This role would suit a candidate who possesses strong business development and fundraising experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, a strong work ethic and a high level of self-accountability.

Whilst most of this role will be based remotely, regular travel in and around the Glasgow area will be required to support stakeholder engagement and business development activities (such as meetings and events).

Role Purpose

The Fundraising and Partnerships Manager will play a key role in securing and diversifying income to support the charity's mission and continued sustainability. Working remotely with a high degree of autonomy, the post holder will identify and secure funding opportunities, build and maintain relationships with supporters and partners, increase awareness of the charity, and develop strategies to grow income from a range of sources.

The role is ideally suited to a highly motivated and self-directed individual who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with trustees, colleagues, supporters, and external stakeholders.

Trusts and Foundations Fundraising

  • Research and identify suitable grant opportunities from trusts, foundations, and funders.
  • Develop and submit high-quality grant applications and funding proposals.
  • Maintain a pipeline of prospective funding opportunities and track progress.
  • Manage grant reporting requirements and ensure compliance with funder conditions.
  • Build strong relationships with grant-making organisations and funding partners.

Relationship Management and Income Generation

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing donors, supporters, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to increase income from individual giving, donations, sponsorship, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to diversify the charity's income streams.
  • Create and secure new corporate partnerships aligned with the charity's mission and values.
  • Represent the charity professionally with external organisations and potential supporters.

Partnerships and Profile Raising

  • Build relationships with community organisations, businesses, and relevant stakeholders to increase awareness of the charity.
  • Work with marketing, digital, and service providers to strengthen the charity's public profile.
  • Assist in maintaining the charity's online presence by preparing and publishing content across digital channels, including the website and social media, and coordinating with commissioned delivery partners to ensure timely and effective digital communications.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance engagement with supporters and beneficiaries.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

  • Liaise closely with colleagues, volunteers, and trustees to gather information, evidence, and impact data.
  • Monitor and evaluate funded projects and organisational activities.
  • Prepare progress reports, impact reports, funding updates, and presentations as required.
  • Provide regular reports to Trustees and Board of Directors on fundraising performance, opportunities, risks, and achievements.

CRM and Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all fundraising activity within the charity's CRM system.
  • Ensure supporter, donor, funding, and partnership records are managed in line with GDPR requirements.
  • Produce reports and management information to support decision-making and fundraising planning.

Strategic Development

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of fundraising, engagement, and organisational growth strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Deliver agreed fundraising and income generation targets and key performance indicators.
  • Support trustees in developing sustainable plans for future growth and financial resilience.

  • Work collaboratively with trustees, staff, volunteers, and external partners.
  • Operate with minimal supervision and a high degree of accountability.
  • Manage their own workload and priorities effectively.

There are no direct line management responsibilities currently associated with this role.
