Senior Technical Analyst (Networks & Connectivity)

Grade I (£49,127 - £58,624 p.a. pro rata)

About the Role

As a senior member of the Networking and Connectivity team you will be responsible (along with the Technical Lead) for supporting, administering, designing and maintaining a highly available and responsive network for the university. Working closely with the Technical Lead for Networks and Connectivity you will ensure the university’s network is performing optimally, has the necessary roadmaps in place and can support the university’s stated aims.

You will help drive and implement the network strategy developing a secure Cisco based architecture. Working closely with the Technical Lead and providing guidance and overseeing Technical Service Analysts. The role will require proven skills and demonstrable experience in networking particularly routing and switching along with an excellent understanding of wireless technology. You will be self-motivated with an ability to develop and deliver pragmatic networking solutions within NTU established standards as appropriate to requirements, timescales and budgets. Additionally, you will be expected to provide third line support to local teams and Service Desk.

You will have a good eye for detail and problem-solving skills, strong work ethic, adaptability and a creative outlook and will be prepared to contribute to team discussions and solutions.

You will have good communication and interpersonal skills. You will be a selfmotivated individual, who is required to work on your own initiative and as part of the wider team, with the ability to plan, organise and prioritise work and being able to work to deadlines.
