Job Title: Performance Nutritionist – Academy / Pathway

Contract: Self-employed / Contractor

Contract Period: November 2026 – September 2027

Commitment: 1.5 days per month, 16.5 days total.

PAY: £120 per day

Reports to: Lead Performance Nutritionist

Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club is seeking a motivated, qualified, and highly organised Performance Nutritionist to support the development of players across the Academy and Pathway programmes.

Working under the guidance of the Lead Performance Nutritionist, the successful candidate will deliver engaging nutrition workshops, create educational resources, and provide individualised one-to-one support to academy/pathway players to enhance their performance, health, and wellbeing.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Club's performance nutrition strategy and play a key role in developing the next generation of talented cricketers. The role offers valuable experience within a high-performance sporting environment, working closely with athletes, coaches, and multidisciplinary support staff to embed best-practice nutrition across the women's pathway.

Role Purpose

To deliver nutrition workshops and educational material alongside 1:1 player support to the academy and pathway. To contribute to the club’s nutrition strategy under the supervision of the Lead Performance Nutritionist.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver player and parent workshops
• Design suitable educational material to support players around training, competition, travel, recovery and injury rehabilitation.
• Provide 1:1 support to players
• Work collaboratively with the wider Science & Medicine and coaching teams.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the club’s nutrition provision
• Monthly engagement with Lead Performance Nutritionist

Delivery

16.5 days per year, normally delivered as 1.5 days per month. Days may be flexibly allocated around key training and competition periods.

Sessions will typically comprise:

• Squad workshops and nutrition education.
• Player 1:1 consultations and follow-up.
• Liaison with wider Science & Medicine and coaching teams.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria

• Higher degree in Sports Nutrition (IOC Diploma, PG Cert/Dip or MSc).
• Graduate registration with the Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr) or able to register within 3 months of starting
• UKAD Clean Sport Advisor Accreditation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and engage athletes and staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality and anti-doping best practice.

Desirable

• Experience in women's sport.
• Experience working in applied sports nutrition.
• Ability to translate nutrition science into practical advice.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary high-performance environment.

WORKING REQUIREMENTS

The role will be based primarily at Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and relevant training venues. Some flexibility may be required to accommodate the cricket programme, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Sunday’s

Monday evenings

Tuesday evenings

The Summer schedule varies based around fixtures

The post holder may work with athletes under 18 and will therefore be subject to appropriate safeguarding and DBS requirements.
