Sitting within Services Delivery, the role is central to making sure applications and claims are processed accurately, customers receive clear and helpful communication, and records are maintained in line with Energy Saving Trust quality procedures.

Success in this role means delivering a positive customer journey, verifying information against agreed criteria, resolving queries with applicants, installers and colleagues, and contributing to high standards of service quality. You will help ensure customers receive the support they need to make informed decisions, while playing a practical part in Energy Saving Trust’s mission to address the climate emergency and support people and communities.

The team

The Services Delivery team is responsible for administering and delivering loan and grant programmes, ensuring customers receive a high-quality service while contractual commitments are met. The team works closely with colleagues across programme management, finance, learning and development, and external stakeholders including the Scottish Government.

We are a collaborative and supportive team that values accuracy, continuous improvement and excellent customer service. Team members work together to solve problems, share knowledge and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness. We encourage learning, innovation and personal development, creating an environment where colleagues can make a real impact while developing their skills and experience.

Working in this team offers the opportunity to contribute to programmes that help people and communities access funding and support, while playing a part in advancing Energy Saving Trust's mission to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future.

What you will do

  • Verify information in grant and loan applications and claims against agreed criteria, following up with customers, installers and internal teams where needed.

  • Provide excellent customer service by supporting customers by email, letter and telephone, resolving issues and helping deliver an effective customer journey.

  • Maintain accurate administrative systems, databases and spreadsheets in line with Energy Saving Trust quality procedures.

  • Contribute to service quality measures, including high call quality and customer satisfaction standards.

  • Learn and apply programme processes, customer service standards and telephone management systems as you build confidence in the role.

What you will bring

  • Strong administrative experience, with excellent administrative and numeracy skills.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a demanding environment.

  • A proven track record in delivering excellent customer service.

  • Experience working as part of a multi-skilled team, with the ability to work effectively with people at different levels of seniority.

  • Effective communication skills for a range of audiences, including vulnerable applicants, with a positive and enthusiastic approach.

As part of our recruitment process, we conduct background checks on all candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment. The nature of the scheme that we are contracted to work on with Scottish Government means that we are required to comply with UK Government standards when carrying out pre-employment checks for new starters. This check is known as the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).

BPSS checks include:
  • Verification of identity
  • Verification of right to work in the UK
  • Verification of your previous 3 years of employment history, including periods spent overseas
  • A basic criminal record check (DBS), and where relevant, criminal record information from countries where you have lived for significant periods

Information obtained will only be used for the purposes of assessing your suitability for the role. Please note that if successful, any offer of employment made will be conditional pending the successful completion of the BPSS checks. To meet BPSS requirements, candidates must hold valid UK Right to Work documentation. If you have lived or worked overseas, these periods can be verified as long as the relevant evidence can be provided.

More information on the checks can be found here: https://www.gov.scot/publications/baseline-personnel-security-standard-on-amiqus-processing-data-privacy-notice/
