Be part of supporting the retail stores across Birmingham Museums Trust (BMT), creating memorable experiences for over a million visitors each year in one of the city's most iconic cultural venues.


Fixed Term until 31st January 2027


Various roles available:

37 hours per week £25,948.96 per annum

22.2 hours per week (3 days a week) £15,569.38 per annum

14.8 hours per week (2 days a week) £10,379.59 per annum


Location: Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery (BMAG) - other BMT sites as required


What you'll be doing


You'll support the operation of our retail stores across Birmingham Museums Trust, by creating world-class shopping experiences for our visitors. You'll contribute to a profitable and inspiring retail environment whilst enhancing the experience for every visitor. You will also:


  • Drive sales and achieve targets, ensuring retail operations are efficient and competitive
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, assisting visitors with purchases and queries
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure compliance with safety and food storage regulations
  • Use various systems confidently to ensure smooth operations
  • Support stock management, daily banking, and product changes to keep offers fresh


What we're looking for


  • A passion for customer service and experience in a retail or similar setting
  • Team Player
  • Experience of cash handling and reconciling
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings, especially during major events
