Hours: 30 or 32.5 hours per week
Shifs: 5 days over 7 – Flexible working pattern

Contract: 37-week contract

About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistants to join our team at George Watson’s College.

You’ll help deliver fresh, high-quality food and excellent customer service, working across food preparation, service, cleaning and events. The role also includes occasional evening and weekend work.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and presentation, following our Fresh Food from Scratch ethos.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service during meal and service periods.
• Replenish food and equipment and help ensure services run smoothly.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, food safety and health & safety.
• Take care when preparing food for allergens and special dietary requirements.
• Complete required records, including food temperatures, cleaning schedules and stock checks.
• Assist with cleaning kitchens, service areas and equipment to the required standard.
• Support the set-up, service and clear-down of school events and functions.
• Work positively with colleagues and raise any issues or concerns with the management team.
• Report accidents, incidents, damage, unfit food or other irregularities promptly.
• Attend training and follow all Sodexo and college policies and procedures.
• Be flexible to support evening, weekend and school holiday events when required.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by management.
• You will also contribute to maintaining high standards and achieving a successful Safeguard audit.

• Previous catering or hospitality experience is beneficial, but full training will be provided.
