Programme Officer - Corporate Planning

An opportunity has arisen within the Corporate Planning Team for a Programme Officer to join the Programme Management Office (PMO).

The role:

The post holder will contribute to the planning, management, reporting and delivery of the Transforming Together and GGC Way Forward programmes, alongside other strategic programmes as required. Reporting through the established governance framework, you will manage a defined portfolio of change programmes, supporting Programme and Project Boards to oversee delivery, monitor progress and realise impact.

You will help ensure projects and programmes are delivered using appropriate project management methodologies and lifecycle approaches, enabling robust and effective delivery.

About You

Working within a busy team and to challenging deadlines, you will be required to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of delivery. You will work closely with senior colleagues and subject matter experts across the organisation to coordinate activity and manage interdependencies.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

This is a permanent full-time post of 36 hours per week.

This is role is on a hybrid setup; at home and based at JB Russell House, Gartnavel Campus, G12 0XH. With a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.

The shift pattern is 5 days, 9am to 5pm.

Key responsibilities:

The role includes responsibility for a range of portfolio management activities, including:

• Coordinating project and programme status reporting
• Supporting stakeholders with planning and milestone management
• Risk, issue and dependency management
• Portfolio change control processes
• Tracking outcomes, benefits, and impacts
• Monitoring and following up actions arising from governance meetings
• Supporting effective programme governance and decision-making

The portfolio encompasses a diverse range of projects across health and social care, providing a unique opportunity to gain exposure to transformational change across multiple services and disciplines.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

You will possess:

• Excellent planning, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work autonomously, exercising judgement and escalating issues appropriately.
• Proven experience within a programme or project management environment.
• A demonstrable track record of supporting the successful delivery of change initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively within a complex and fast-paced environment.
